The Constitution of Estonia was adopted by a referendum on June 28, 1992, and entered into force on June 29, 1992. It has been amended many times, most recently on April 27, 2011.As the fundamental law of Estonia, the Constitution defines the structure of its Government, the rights and duties of the country's citizens, its mode of passing laws and specifies the principle of separation and balance of the legislative, executive and judicial powers.
Specific provision(s) of the law
Paragraph 1:"The state authority shall be exercised solely pursuant to the Constitution and laws which are in conformity therewith. Generally recognised principles and rules of international law are an inseparable part of the Estonian legal system.
Laws shall be published in the prescribed manner. Only published laws have obligatory force."
Paragraph 123:
"The Republic of Estonia shall not enter into international treaties which are in conflict with the Constitution.
If laws or other legislation of Estonia are in conflict with international treaties ratified by the Riigikogu, the provisions of the international treaty shall apply."
