Act of Parliament required by Article 59 (2) of the Basic Law to enable the Federal Republic of Germany to ratify the European Convention on State Immunity of 1972 (ETS No.74).

In assenting to the Convention without reservation, the German Parliament recognizes the theory of relative State immunity embodied therein.

Specific provision(s) of the law

English Translation of Article 1 of the Act:

“The European Convention on State Immunity, signed by the Federal Republic of Germany in Basle on 16 May 1972, is assented to. The Convention is published below.“
